Danish oil and shipping group A P Moller-Maersk will pay about $100 million less than predicted for 20 mega-size container vessels ordered from Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

The group said it now expects to pay about $185 million on average per vessel, against previous expectations of about $190 million.

Maersk Line, the group’s container shipping unit, ordered the ships, capable of carrying 18,000 20-foot equivalent units ( TEU), in 2011.
