Fire on container ship in Manila, Sept. 2015

Smoke billowed from containers on board MB Cape Moreton at around 09.15 Saturday morning, reported the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) crew members.

Container ship MV Cape Moreton caught fire in the Philippines on September 12th, 2015. The container ship sailing the flag of the Marshall Islands was at the Manila International Container (MICT) in Tondo when the incident occurred.

At the scene of the incident were sent twenty fire trucks of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to extinguish the blaze together with several other tug boats to help the firefighters to fight the flames. The crew members of the burning container ship MV Cape Moreton were evacuated by personnel of the BFP, who boarded the ship.

No injuries were reported during the incident while the cause of the fire is still under investigation by local authorities.
