Wyoming governor pushes coal ports on Northwest trip

Faced with sliding domestic demand for coal, the governor of Wyoming has kept pressing for access to deep-water ports in the Northwest that would allow exports to Asian markets.

Portland City Council sets public hearing on proposed propane export terminal in North Portland

Posters have appeared around Portland spoofing Charlie Hales’ campaign materials. Hales ran as an environmentalist and is pushing for massing propane exports that would clog existing rail lines. ILWU Local 8 is actively opposing the project.
