The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service issued the following statement today on the labor negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and Pacific Northwest grain handlers:

“Bargaining continued during the weekend between the Grain Group and the ILWU, with assistance from FMCS Acting Director Scot Beckenbaugh. The parties had lengthy discussions regarding their interests and worked to address the remaining issues that separate them. Bargaining is scheduled to continue August 10 and 11.”
