Steel slab work recently moved from Portland to Vancouver.
A truck hauling a 75,000 pound slab of metal overturned on the North Marine Drive exit from I-5 south just before 6:30 p.m. Monday evening.
The truck’s driver was pinned inside the cab, which was crushed against a concrete barrier when the semi tractor and trailer overturned. He was finally freed from the wreckage about 7 p.m. and rushed to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center to be evaluated by a trauma team.
