Nov. 8 will be Geraldine Knatz’s last day on the job as general manager of the Los Angeles Harbor Department.

Newly elected Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced her retirement, the first in what is expected to be some staff shake-ups under the new city administration.

Knatz will assist during the transition period through the end of the year as Gary Lee Moore, city engineer and general manager of the Bureau of Engineering, takes the role of acting port general manager until a permanent replacement is found.
