Bunge Limited said its first quarter net income more than tripled as high global crop prices boosted sales at its grain merchandising division.

The agribusiness company said net income for the quarter was $232 million, or $1.49 per share, compared to $63 million, or 31 cents per share, during the same period a year ago.

Revenue during the quarter jumped to $12.19 billion, compared to $10.35 billion during the same period a year before.
