Richard Kinder is still the richest person in Houston, and he’s now among the 100 richest people worldwide, according to Forbes’ “The World’s Billionaires” list for 2015.
Although he plans to step down as CEO of Kinder Morgan in June, Kinder will remain active as the executive chairman and will remain the company’s largest shareholder.
A record 1,826 billionaires ranked on this year’s list, including 290 newcomers. The U.S. had the second-largest share of the newcomers, adding 57 billionaires to the list, including Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, who last ranked on the list in 2007.
