The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has lodged a complaint against recruitment company Skilled for asking its female members about menstruation and pregnancy on a medical form.

The MUA lodged its complaint with the Equal Opportunity Commission, saying a question about whether the applicant was pregnant could be used as grounds for discrimination.

The union said the questions were offensive and none of the company’s business.
