From The Chronicle:

Columbia County, with its small but rapidly growing population and economic base, will next July host a convention with an international context that will allow it to shine well above its perceived weight.

“We are hosting the 106th annual conference of the Association of Pacific Ports,” said Port of St. Helens Executive Director Doug Hayes. “It is a big deal and will allow us to show we are a highly
diversified driver of the economic engine in this region.”

The conference, which is slated for July 14-17, will host staff and directors from posts around the Pacific Rim, including ports in Alaska, American Samoa, British Columbia, California, Guam, Hawaii, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Oregon, Saipan, Taiwan, and Washington.
