From an article titled ‘Obama’s funding request leaves some ports wanting’ in the Journal of Commerce:

Among U.S. ports pursuing major harbor deepening projects, there were decidedly more losers than winners in President Obama’s 2017 budget request unveiled earlier this month. For some, the $4.1 trillion proposal came with a mix of good and bad news. For others, there was no news at all.

The president’s proposal includes more than $42 million in federal funding for the effort to expand the port of Savannah’s harbor. However, that’s less than half of the $90 million Georgia state officials say they will need to keep the project on track.

Meanwhile, the White House proposal allocates no funds whatsoever for ongoing efforts to expand and deepen the harbor at the Port of Jacksonville.
