Evergreen Marine Corp (長榮海運), Taiwan’s largest container shipping firm by fleet size, has announced that it is scheduled to work with three other Asian container shippers in operating a route between North America and South America from late next month.
The three other Asian container shippers are Hyundai Merchant Marine Co and Hanjin Shipping Co of South Korea and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) of Japan.
The four shippers are set to launch the Atlantic North South Service (ANS) on March 22, with Evergreen, Hyundai and Hanjin each providing one 2,100 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) ship each for the route, while NYK Line will provide three.
