Millennium Bulk Terminals announced Friday the purchase of 20 acres of Columbia River shoreline property in West Longview. The acquisition will help the company develop wetlands and environmentally sensitive land as it seeks to build a coal terminal nearby. But Port of Longview officials say it could hamper the port’s development of a Barlow Point industrial park.

Port of Longview Director Ken O’Hollaren declined to discuss details of the potential real-estate transactions but acknowledged the port would pursue future angles with Millennium.
