In an article called “No protest as grain ship docks at EGT terminal” published today, the Daily News reports:

The EGT vessel Full Sources docked at the Port of Longview without any protest whatsoever at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, signaling an end to the nearly year-long labor dispute between the company and the longshore union.

With about 20 port and longshore employees watching, four members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union tied up the 738-foot vessel at the new Berth 9. The freighter, the first ship ever to call at the new $200 million terminal, will take on Washington soft wheat for South Korea.

EGT is negotiating a labor contract with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, and the two sides have reportedly agreed to most important contract terms and headed off an expected mass protest of the ship’s arrival.
