Cargill Inc. and CHS Inc. said Wednesday they have expanded their West Coast grain exporting joint venture, adding two terminals.

The 50-50 joint venture, known as Temco, has long consisted of an export terminal in Tacoma. Now, CHS’ Kalama, Wash., grain elevator and Cargill’s Irving Elevator in Portland, Ore., will be added to Temco.

Minnetonka-based Cargill, one of the world’s largest private companies, and Inver Grove Heights-based CHS, the largest U.S. farmer-owned cooperative, are both major grain merchandisers.
