We are writing in order to express solidarity and to support the International Longshore Workers’ Union (ILWU) in their just struggle for decent jobs at the Port of Longview.
3F in Denmark, representing Danish Dock Workers, is standing in solidarity with the workers of the ILWU in the United States, who were detained by police for protesting against job losses.
The rightful protest from the ILWU to secure decent jobs was disgracefully met with police brutality and our brother, ILWU President Bob McEllrath, were arrested.
We are appalled over the actions of the police, and express our strongest support to the ILWU in their struggle to secure proper unionized work at the Ports.
