Australia: Wharfies stop work

Up to 100 wharf workers … held a 24-hour stoppage, which ended at midnight, and they [were] expected to engage in further industrial action on Friday.

The wharfies are seeking improved rostering arrangements and opportunities for career progression and training as drawn-out negotiations continue nationwide with Patrick Bulk and General Stevedoring over a new enterprise agreement.
