Ambre Energy Millennium Bulk terminals

Ambre Energy's U.S. unit, Millennium Bulk Terminals, is located on the former Chinook Ventures site in Longview, WA, seen on the left. Ambre's subsidiary, Coyote Island Terminal, plans to ship coal from upriver at the Port of Morrow, near Boardman, OR.

The Port of Morrow Commission has approved a one-year lease option with Coyote Island Terminal LLC of Salt Lake City. The Utah company wants to build a rail off-loading terminal on up to 24.26 acres and use up to 10 acres, including up to 1,200 feet of Columbia River waterfront. The company hopes to use that area to transfer the coal onto barges for shipment to Longview, Wash., and on to customers in Asia.

Klein said his company hopes to ship unit trains of coal to the port from the Powder River Basin of Montana and Wyoming.
