Evergreen Marine chairman Bronson Hsieh said the group would order 10 more vessels of 8000 teu “soon”, while at the same time urging shipping companies not to deploy too much capacity.
Evergreen’s most recent order was in September for 10 container ships of 8000 teu at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries. Mr Hsieh said that between January and September, no fewer than 26 new services had been added on intra-Asia routes.
