An Oregon state transportation review committee has recommended the International Port of Coos Bay receive $7.8 million in grant funding to pay for its rehabilitation of the Coos Bay rail line … that runs west of Eugene to Coos Bay.

Money from the grant would be used to help pay for repairs to five tunnels and three swing span bridges, for repair and replacement of rail, ties, ballast, signals and crossing surfaces, along with rehabilitation of culverts along the route.
